Our rates are based on daytime usage and total usage. Our position is that those who use the service the most should pay the most.
To avoid everyone paying a higher general rate, we have developed software to carefully calculate your Monday thru Friday daytime usage. During customary business hours we try to ensure everyone has rapid access to their dial-up connection. Each account is reviewed monthly on the 20th, and dial-up usage surcharges apply for that previous month's time depending on your usage of the service.
We all know that billing for usage is very common with any utility, and dial-up service over the phone lines is no exception. For example, cell phone plans vary according to daytime and evening usage. Those that use their cell phones more during the day, pay more than those who use them less.
At Captain Jack Communications, LLC, we use one modem for every 5 users. That means we have nearly double the national ISP standard of modems per customer, which is one dial-up modem for every 8 users. This figure should allow dial-up customers to seldom receive a busy signal. When users log off when not accessing the internet, everyone should experience a successful logon and surfing experience.
